My Favorite Father around...

There seems to come a time when everything you thought to be important in life changes. Things shift. Priorities change. Your heart becomes bigger than it used to be. Your eyes fill with wonder and tears a little more often when you look at the tiny creature you created. When that itty bitty hand wraps around your finger for the first time. When you breathe in the brand new baby placed in your arms. Your baby... That you and your other half just brought into this great, big world. Your family just got bigger. It's a miracle. And now it's yours. To love. To protect. To nurture. To teach. 

When a man becomes a father, I can imagine only from my experience of becoming a mother, that it is an overwhelming thing. A big, ol', scary wonderful thing. Thank you for never seeming scared. Thank you for being so good at all of it. Thank you for always being my calm when I did seem scared. Thank you for the protection and love you give. Thank you for being the greatest father.. Our babies are so very lucky. I am so very lucky.
