Sun Flare

The fun thing about editing your photographs is that you can really become an artist. You can take an already beautiful picture and put all kinds of new twists on it. 

One of my favorites is creating, or more likely, enhancing sun flare. I like to take sun flare that is already there, and make it more visible. I don't do this often with others photos, but with pictures of my own children, I do it a lot. Personally, I like the flare!

I try to capture it with my camera, and am successful some of the time, but when I'm not happy with the amount of it, I can add my own! You can too! I use an action by coffeeshop called "sun kissed." It is free for the download on the coffeeshop blog... you will find the link at the bottom of my blog in my favorites list. I have to tweak it quite a bit, but I really like to add it to sun that is already there in my photographs to add some drama. Again, I know it's not for everyone, but I love it. Examples below:
